Buying an LCD Screen Replacement

Am I correct in thinking that when I need to replace a laptop LCD screen that I all I have to do is just pull the cracked screen, check the LCD screen model number (LTN154X3-L03) on the back of said screen, then purchase a replacement screen of the same model number?

If so (yes), will it matter if the replacement screen I purchase was pulled from different model or even make of laptop just so long as it's the same model of laptop screen?

You are correct. Match the model number, and it will work for your laptop. I've never had a problem with used screens pulled from other machines. Ebay will probably net you the best price, just search the model number.
