Laptop got extremely hot and it won't turn on

Whenever there's a burning smell, do not futz around with it, trying to start up. Take it to the shop and explain about the smell. Something is shorting likely, or overheating and you need someone to take a look at it before more damage occurs.

What should I do when my laptop keep restart and the screen says "attempting to recover installation"?

During boot, can you press a key (usually f2 or f8 or one of the other function keys) to get into boot menu where you can choose safe mode? Or is it the same issue with that? If you can't get to safe mode, do you have your windows installation usb/dvd? If yes, use it to boot into it, then go to...

Why my laptop fan is making noise?

Yeah that's your main fan and likely it's having issues like webworkings said. You'll need a replacement which aren't hard to do if you can find the part.

Why my laptop fan is making noise?

You do have discrete amd graphics. Start and stop fans are often found on gpus and they are off until they hit a certain temperature. Then again it could be another fan entirely misbehaving in your system. Can you install hwmonitor and watch the fans and see which one is dong it?

Casting video from pc to tv fails to show subtitles

Yeah can't help you with this but just dropping a line to say I've run into same issue so it's nothing specific to your installation. There was a complicated set of instructions on how to do this with vlc since built in system for whatever reason wasn't working correctly but I still never got...

My satelite lap top starts a red/pink tint to the monitor screen and the laptop screen at 9 opm each day. Same thing on a dif

If you're on windows 10, go to Settings, Home, Display, click on night light settings and then either turn off, change the schedule or adjust color temperature to something you like. I actually enjoy this setting cause it makes it easy on the eyes at night but the default color temperature might...

    Is the E-Reader Dead?

While I'm on kobo and not an e-ink one, I still find dedicated e-reader too good to replace. Laptops and tablets are generally too big, unless a mini-tablet which is...pointlessly expensive in comparison to most e-readers. Phones are too small. E-readers are just right and configured for reading...

    My DVD hookup

Well depends on your smart tv. But typically it'll have a button on the remote saying something like smart or menu. If you press it it should show you some sort of view with apps. Which tv is it?

Hearing breathing/noises through headphones (and crashing)

If you're getting an error code, then you're getting a memory dump. Turn it on, try to configure it for small memory dump https://www.xtremerain.com/create-small-memory-dump-read/ and then post the file on dropbox so we can take a look. Or you can take a look at the already existing dump using...

Not Computer Savvy, laptop trying to reinstall windows?

There either may be issue with your windows backup, or maybe with the drive itself, hard to say. First check if your laptop came with a windows backup cd or something. If not, keep reading. On another computer, create a live ubuntu usb like this...

Microphone recording volume gradually gets lower on constant tones

Hope they do come up with something. I can't think of what else it could be. The only other option is a mobo issue but usually that's not how it manifests. Your issue sounds specific to audio settings or model of that headset.

Microphone recording volume gradually gets lower on constant tones

Heh. Have you tried talking to corsair directly? They might have a better idea what's going on. My idea was just a guess, it could be other things, and they're likely to have run into similar complaints before.

Microphone recording volume gradually gets lower on constant tones

I don't have the headset so it won't install, but from http://www.legitreviews.com/corsair-void-surround-gaming-headset-review_179216/3 you have two sliders, one for volume and another for sidetone which according to the article is feedback from the recording...I turned this off on mine so I...

Microphone recording volume gradually gets lower on constant tones

I see. Your headset's support page sheds no light on how to access this setting?

Microphone recording volume gradually gets lower on constant tones

Well..are you on windows 10? If you don't have any other audio panels, you'd right click on volume icon, select recording devices, select the microphone, click on properties on the bottom, go under Enhancements and make sure noise suppression and acoustic echo cancellations are unchecked...
