Not sure if this is normal or not, when i click shut down on the laptop it shuts off like normal but the power light remains on for a few seconds after, is this normal?

when I hit the power botton it takes 5 seconds for the screen to come on

My laptop fell off the bed now it takes about 5 seconds to power on. Can you tell me what might be the problem? It works fine but just takes abit longer to come on.
