Okay. I finally found answers to my questions--on the Avast website, actually. 'Seems as though Avast has thought of many things, and I downloaded it and will use it here in Peru--as well as Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, etc.

For folks like myself, in PERU, can't a thief just put a new Movistar chip in my Claro cell phone and that would be that? I'm obviously NOT tech savvy, but it would seem to me that many of the security features are almost immediately undermined, so to speak, when the phone has a new chip in it...
