    Thanks. I think you are right. Finally reached stage 2 of the check disk and it says "failed to transfer logged messages to the event log with status 50" now it's just waiting for another command

    Thank you! That's seems to be the general consensus. It is currently doing the check disk... many file segments unreadable

    I have an Asus laptop that froze during a repair loop. I followed the instructions from this site to do the BOOTREC followed by check disc. It says "File record segment 289676 is unreadable" says this through segment 286791. What does this mean? Thanks!
