    thank you guys for answering, so far I have done nothing but for the money it may be worth it to replace the screen. However the HP is about 7 years old so I may just sell it on ebay. rrw

    screen image partially fried

    HP Pavillion dv6000 dropped on carpet and now the screen image is partially fried. Computer works fine plugged in to external monitor. Could it be the ribbon or most likely a new screen will fix this, thanks...rrw
