About a month ago WIN 8.1 32 bit ran perfectly,booting up within 3 secs.but now my speed's gone so bloody low I guess it's the hard drive that's out.It literally took me 3 hrs to startup my pc pus horrible lag.

Try removing any external hard drives,Pendrives,Cd's or DVD's from your pc. These are the prime culprits when it comes to the blinking hyphen.By the way do you get an error message stating : "An OS wasn't found try disconnecting any media that do not contain an OS and try again."
