Android Flaw Lets Hackers Hijack System Updates

You guys all read the article and then got stop on the one example that they gave. Remember it's just an example. The flaw is still present in the newest versions as well. So if you update from 4.3 to 4.4 and the new version/update has additional permission options then apps can take malicious...

LG Introduces More Giant 4K TVs

@yer_momma your math is wrong You aren't doubling 2k res (comes from the 1920 in the 1920x1080 of 1080p) to get 4k res (comes from the 3840 in 3840x2160 of 2160p) even though it might sound that way because of the 2k and 4k marketting terms, but you need to take into account those terms refer...

President Obama Intros Consumer Privacy Bill of Rights

Also I find it amusing that they would choose to name it after a document that they themselves do not even acknowledge the existance of most of the time, let alone follow.

President Obama Intros Consumer Privacy Bill of Rights

They need one of these for the credit tracking companies. It is a major pain to get anything that's false in your credit report corrected, if you ever actually get it corrected.

Flash Browsing Comes to iPad via OnLive App

Well, considering it's just a fancy remote desktop access service, they could offer anything they want to offer, as long as it can run on Windows.

Barnes & Noble Intros Cheaper $199 Nook Tablet

kawininjazxTo be honest the extra memory and storage are what made the nook better, especially with android hacks, but to save $50, you are losing a lot. The kind of customer who buys a Kindle Fire mostly consists of people who think the Kindle Fire is the same as the iPad only smaller and costs...

Google Close to Launching Cloud Storage Service

They're only doing it so now they can even have access to what used to be stored locally by people and beyond their reach. Okay, okay I'm only joking ...but what if I'm not? lol

Hate Your Data Plan? Russian Rewarded for 419GB DL in 1 Wk

backin5Jane, a little nitpicking:Since you wrote 419GB (with a capital "B") I assumed you meant Gigabytes, but that would require downloading at around 40Mbps rate for a whole week straight. Check your math again. `3,352,000 Mb in 419GB 604,800 seconds in a week =5.54Mb/s constant data flow

Hate Your Data Plan? Russian Rewarded for 419GB DL in 1 Wk

Wow! He would have to have been downloading at an average constant rate of at least 5.54Mb/s 24/7 for that week to get to that number. Or, at least 11.1Mb/s for 12 hours a day, depending on how you look at it. That's one busy guy.

This article is in reference to a statement posted to http://www.carpathia.com/ which reads as follows. "Dulles, Va. – January 30, 2012 – In reference to the letter filed by the U.S. Department of Justice with the Eastern District of Virginia on Jan. 27, 2012, Carpathia Hosting does not have...

Carpathia Hosting Denies Having Any Megaupload Files

JerryInTampa81372I think the article assumes claims not made."Carpathia Hosting does not have, and has never had, access to the content on MegaUpload servers ""access to the content" is not the same as "content not on our servers". Well, I guess that would imply that they don't have access to...

AT&T Rules the iPhone With 20% of Global Sales Pie

Just goes to show, at&t customers are mostly satisfied with the service and/or prices relative to the competition's. To be honest, it does seem like most of the people that whine about at&t are Verizon fanboys anyways. I am in no way saying at&t is the best here, just that maybe they aren't all bad.

Verizon CEO Pulls Out of CES One Week Before the Show

Big unions are ran by Mob bosses and actually have hired "muscle" that go around and make sure that you are either in the union or you are out. Out being that you cannot work in the area or even travel through the area in some cases, or something might "happen" to you or your loved ones. This...

iPads (and Other Tablets) are Killing Free Hotel Wi-Fi

beaynActually dialup modems used 10 bits per byte (start and stop bit) so a 56k modem would get 5.6KB/s in theory. They usually only connected between 36k and 48k tops with 44k being most common iirc. So you're nearly doubling the average speed of a dialup modem with your math. That would be...
