Got hold of the mcafee chat help, and found it was caused by a corrupt rootkit file in the scanner. Advised to do a clean reinstal and then rescan. Just done a quick scan, and it came up clean and sucessfully scanned for root kit four or five times during it. Thought I'd post this incase anyone...

My mcafee 2012 internet security has spent now over an hour on 78% completed scanning rootkit, is this normal (it certainly is not for me) as I have never seen this before. I am running a twin hard disk, system cdriver 80 gig, F drive 300 gig. Just looking for a little reassurance as to whether...
