Dead pixels are unfixable. I just hope they are permanently black as a pixel stuck on a bright color or white is very distracting. If there are too many of them and too distracting then a new tv will be on your wish list.

It depends...was it on at the time? Perhaps only a cable to the drive came loose. If it was on then the drive might be toast. But do get it out of the machine and try hooking it to a desktop temporarily to see if the drive is readable.
