How about the HP Pavilion it is pretty thin, fairly cheaper, and comes with windows 8.1 which she wants is it reliable?

Hey guys so lately my sister has been wanting a new light laptop that she can do her collage courses. Her current one is satisfying her but it is starting to have heating issues so it is on its way out. she would just go get it fixed but it is quite old (2008) and it is starting to lag behind...
