Wow, no idea how I got to this thread. My bad. And yeah, there is a $900 SLI y500 on newegg, but it's the dual core i5 version, not the quad core i7. That's sorda pointless. Like I said, the regular quad core i7 SLI y500 is near $1100.

So just tolerate playing BF3 on low-med settings until you can afford another 650m to play it on high. You won't be playing it on ultra at 50+ fps either way (at least for those huge multiplayer maps with explosions going off everywhere). That would take a gpu such as the 680m or 7970.

Basically the same specs between y400 and 500, however the main differences are size and the availability of the 1080p screen on the y500. Also, right now to can get a SLI (which is 2 graphics cards) 650m setup for under $1100. Thats the best bang for your buck and nothing else has that level...

If you are truly set on something sleek and slim to play games on high settings, you will need something such as the Asus ux51 or ux500 or a Mac Book Pro. Both are under an inch thick (i think actually closer to .75") with a 650m GPU and quad core i7. They aren't cheap though...around $1900...

Well, look at my above post. Sager np9150 Special edition for $1650. You won't find a cheaper laptop that has better specs. The only comparable ones are the MSI GT-60 ONE for like $1900 and Alienware for over $2000...
