    Laptop for Computer Science student

I used a moderately crappy $600 Lenovo running on an AMD A8 APU (which I still have) for my last year of work on my associate's degree. Performance, while considerably poorer than the lab machines we were generally provided with, was good enough to complete all of my programming assignments. I...

No headset: Preventing voice/audio recycling in video conference.

If your mic has a cardioid profile (fairly common), you should generally be okay as long as the rear of the microphone faces your sound source, though as Ironsounds states, you can get some bleed when things get louder. An omnidirectional microphone will be more difficult to work around, though...

Which of these headphones/headsets are the best? <£100

The Audio Technica and Sannheiser headphones are both fairly well regarded. I personally use the ATH-M30X and love it, but I'm a sucker for monitors. If you want something that doesn't have really flat frequency responses, you won't like it.

I bought a RCA indoor antenna, connected it to the tv but can't get to the tv to find settings to get any channels . Mike

You also may want to use one of several online services to see how to angle your antenna for best reception. I spent over a month trying to point mine before accidentally knocking it out of whack into a much better position.

Are Music CDs region locked between Japan and the USA?

CDs don't have any region locks. Any commercially pressed CD should play in any CD player.

    Looking for an odd cable

There appear to be some devices that claim to do what you're asking. A quick search for "HDMI Audio Splitter" yielded a couple of amazon products that appear to take an HDMI signal in and output an HDMI signal with SPDIF and RCA audio outs as well. I would recommend vigilance in purchasing...

I want to buy Low Cost Gaming Laptop(Under/Around $400)

Realistically, you're not going to get what you want at that budget. The laptop market doesn't really get into options or real features until you start getting into the $600 range, at least in the US market. The $500 and below segment is going to have to compromise something important to pack in...

    Concise books for Networking cert

If you want Cisco certs, you're going to have to read Cisco books, since they're going to be the first ones to change when Cisco updates its tests. You can use their online courses potentially if that's more appealing, we used them for quiz/test taking, if nothing else.

should i use isopropyl or denatured alcohol for cleaning laptop screens

You want isopropyl alcohol. Of course, some denatured alcohol is isopropyl alcohol, in which case that should be okay too, I believe. I believe the recommendation is 90% or higher isopropyl alcohol. It's important to have isopropyl alcohol because it evaporates cleanly and shouldn't leave any...

Converting 3.5mm microphone to plug into USB port on Raspberry Pi

You'd be looking at something like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA4UB1TV8928 with the caveat that you need to verify it works with the Pi, if you're using a B+ or B

    Online gaming possible?

If it's a legitimate copy, it looks like it should just be something you turn on or automatic. If it's not legit, we can't really discuss it, since we don't handle anything related to illegal copies of software.

    about YouTube buffering

Presumably because it only caches so much video unless it's totally loaded. If you're jumping around, it doesn't make sense to hang on to stuff that's now ten or twenty seconds further away from what you need.

What Should I Do to Become a Game Programmer or Designer

Also, FYI, computer engineering typically is more related to circuit analysis/design and is much more about actual physical hardware. If you haven't started yet, I would suggest checking in with your school on that and if it is as I described, changing to a computer science/software engineering...

What Should I Do to Become a Game Programmer or Designer

Your school will teach you most of what you need to know to work in the industry. If you have free time and money, license a copy of the Unreal 4 engine or something once you have some programming skills (or 5 if we're there by then) and make changes to do something cool and demonstrate what you...
