Whenever I render a video with any format I have no sound and the video is very choppy and laggy. Any ideas?

I just got a new laptop and connected it to the internet(Wireless), but it seems when the laptop is using the internet my desktops wired connection barely works at all. Most of the time I do have a connection but it just drops it. Skype calls will drop and games are lagging. Anyone know why when...
