When I changed the CPU I used Arctic silver and cleaned the fan and heat fins. Already installed the latest BIOS (a06) All drivers loaded Only thing I didn't do was do a clean install after the CPU swap. Although it was a clean install 3 days before swapping CPUs.

I have a older Dell Vostro 2510 that I upgraded from a T7500 to a T9500 (Core 2 Duo 2.6GHZ), from 2GB DDR2 to 4GB, 128 GB SSD and Win 7 Pro. As far as I'm aware I updated all of the drivers, but after startup resource monitor shows that RAM and CPU are regularly at 50% or higher. Worse yet...

In theory lol. But laptop mobos have no standard form factor. So i doubt either mobo will fit in another case. Id just drop $60-90 on win 7 and do a fresh install on your win 8 machine

I am going to assume both win 7 and win 8 are OEM versions that came with the laptop. That being said it will not work. OEM versions are tied to the MOBO it was installed on.

do you have a physical wifi on/off switch on your laptop? Like on the side or on your media bar? I have one on the side of my laptop and I accidently toggle it from time to time.
