I think it's possible. But I would agree with Kanewolf to know your product models first. I have an AAXA M5 projector and use it with Amazon Fire Stick all the time. Also, I know it would work with Roku and Chromecast as well. My projector sounds well. But many other models would sound shady...

Usually, projectors have 3.5mm Stereo Headphone Jack to plug in a speaker. It's the same port you can find on iPad, laptop, etc. Also, some projectors can connect to a speaker via bluetooth.

Another thing you might want to consider is if your cable is working. Cables become dysfunctional much easier than PC and projector.
