All i know is it is the stock hdd that came with the laptop.

Most of my files are backed up from frequent back ups but I dont know how to access the files on the missing drive that are not backed up. I also dont know how to test the HDD.

okay so it was clicking off and on periodically for a couple months. the clicking indicates a drive beginning to fail? is there any chance of a loose cable?

I have searched through multiple threads with this same issue on this website and am honestly too computer illiterate to understand what the issue is. I have seen check the bios, windows + r to run disk management, and check the cable connection but honestly i don't know how to read the BIOS...
