I have searched through multiple threads with this same issue on this website and am honestly too computer illiterate to understand what the issue is.

I have seen check the bios, windows + r to run disk management, and check the cable connection but honestly i don't know how to read the BIOS or how to open it.

My 1 tb HDD has been making clicking noises off and on lately and until this happened I wasn't sure where the click was coming from or how to solve. You can imagine how convoluted the results on google are when you search "laptop clicking noises" without any context or sound.

here is the link to the disk management. the hard drive D: doesn't show up anywhere.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Most of my files are backed up from frequent back ups but I dont know how to access the files on the missing drive that are not backed up. I also dont know how to test the HDD.
