If your planning on using it for gaming its decent. Laptops in general are not the best for gaming, then again it depends on what your looking into doing with it. The 12gb of ram is more than sufficient, and with the i7 and a 2 TB Hdd, thats overkill for the ordinary user. For $1000 I would say...
