Is this Laptop worth buying?

This is the laptop that I think I'm gonna buy.

NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M
Intel i7-4700MQ 2.4Ghz
17-inch screen
2TB HDD
12GB Memory

It's up for about $1000. Is this Laptop worth buying?

It's certainly a decent price. What would you use it for, specifically? That will make all the difference in recommending it or not.

If your planning on using it for gaming its decent. Laptops in general are not the best for gaming, then again it depends on what your looking into doing with it. The 12gb of ram is more than sufficient, and with the i7 and a 2 TB Hdd, thats overkill for the ordinary user. For $1000 I would say its a good price.

Note: Also if I remember correctly the i7 has a turbo setting or hyper-threading that can boost it from 2.4Ghz to 3.4Ghz

Had a look at the Y510p? it has a marginally better GPU (750 vs 740). Has a Boot SSD (24gb), but only 8gb and 1TB.

Actually, I just had a look at it and it seems quite nice with the discount. I like 750 gpu and ssd along with FHD screen. Thanks lots for the info! I'll look into it 🙂
