battery not charging

I bought this laptop in 2018 March. Recently I am having difficulties in charging the laptop to 100%. When i am gaming the charging stops and the keyboard lights up, and the game starts lagging. my battery discharged while doing windows update, i connected the charger and finished the update. since then it is not being charged, showing 0% charging but it is 0% since past 5 hours. - i did every trick, removed ACPI battery driver installed/uninstalled - reset my pc completely -...

i'm waiting for adapter/charger to arrive, and i hope that is the problem, but does anybody know if a bad adapter is the reason why, when you hover over the power icon, that it does not show any mention of battery not charging? it only says what the battery level is at.
