Hp Envy m6-n113dx

I have an HP ENVY m6-n113dx laptop I've been having problems with. While using the laptop when I click on something it will freeze for a few seconds. I've been trying to figure out why and the main thing I've noticed is that whenever it happens, my hard disk usage spikes up to 100%. I'm not sure...
