I have a windows laptop. I notice that when I navigate to the details of my WiFi network it lists the detail: “ipv4 dns server - [ip address] (unencrypted)”. Can anyone help me understand what this ‘Unencrypted’ means here. Is it a worry?

No, it's your internal network connection to the router is looks like. Anything to the ISP and past that would be encrypted data using https.
