1 Microphone Dual Audio Jack

Supose that i have a microphone and i want to connect it to a dual jack ( 1 female jack on laptop ). How do i get it to work?

I think maybe he's asking how to connect a microphone to a single combo jack that is meant for both mics/headphones.
