Like a USB hardlock, the gloves could be allowed for each department, so the county Sheriffs guns and gloves will work with each other but not the local PD gloves/guns. Standard issue, unique to each localized police force, and if an officer is killed and/or his gloves taken the id number can be removed from the authorized users list on the rest of the guns, so the criminal cannot use another officers gun against anyone else. Without the proper charger for the clip battery any stolen weapon will be useless once the on-clip battery dies. Programming the gun could be as easy as using the programming gloves, upload firmware onto glove, and grip each gun for programming of new/removal of old codes,
