Honestly I would tell you to just look around. A good gaming laptop will have at least an i5, and a graphics card like a 630 or something. Once you find a laptop, bring it back here and we can tell you if it's worth buying.
This will help decide what graphic card is better, try to get at least a class 2 card from the first half. You want at least a core i5, if you can get a core i7 and a good card, even better. Do NOT get a core i3 or any AMD processor.

Let me clarify something, I am not biased to intel. In fact AMD APUs are great budget pieces of gaming hardware in my humble opinion; but if you have $1000, you don't want an APU.
