hi
is it worth the jump to 1440p for gaming i dont want grief because most people on 1080p so 1440p has issues and is it worth it as in noticably wow

Solution
1080p and wait till 4k becomes stable (more cheap)

I've played at 1440p and there isn't too much differences. Also to jump to 1440 u will need a better monitor and better gpu which combined may cost around 1000+ bucks. So no, IMO not worth yet, unless u get a free monitor heh.

1440p does have its advantages, if you have a rig that is capable of handling 1440p with most games at decent settings/fps I don't see why not, although some games may not have native support for that resolution, i'm pretty sure 90% does, and you should have no problems if you decide to make the jump to 1440p.
If you do though, make sure you pick a LG 21:9 display, it is the best "cinematic" experience 1440p in the market, if you're going for a more competetive type of thing, Asus has a couple of great monitors aswell.

I dont recommend going 4K right now. Im going 4k when they start releasing 4k blu-ray movies. by then 4K will be much affordable, the gpu would probably be able to handle 4k with dual monitor at 60+ FPS.

it really matters how big of a screen you need and more importantly how close to the screen will you be, you wont notice the difference in hyper hd screens when your far enough away from the monitor, what sizes of monitors are you looking at?

you wont experience the 1440 on that monitor .. you wanted a 40" monitor to experience true 1080 so you most definitely need a much bigger monitor than 27" to experience the 1440p .. besides i still think your better of with the 1080 even more so now seeing the size of the monitor
