I will be using this laptop for some light gaming, and many hd videos. Around 5 pounds or less would be great, but not required.

1_What is your budget?
7-800 max, and that's already pushing it

2_What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
13-14 inch

3_What screen resolution do you want?
Doesn't matter

4_Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
Portable

5_How much battery life do you need?
At least 3 hours

6_Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?
Some random games, Warcraft, starcraft, and many fps games

7_What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo / Video editing
,watching movies, Etc.)
Watch HD videos/movies

8_How much storage (H.D.D Capacity) do you need?
Doesn't matter

9_If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post the links to them.
Cheapest possible

10_How long do you want to keep your laptop?
Probably until it breaks, or about 2 years

11_What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ?
Don't need a blu-ray player

12_Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.
Any brand is fine

13_What country do you live in?
Canada

14_Please tell us any additional information if needed.
It must have a graphics card better than Intel 4500MHD. Would prefer it if it were an i3 or i5, but it really doesn't matter.

3. Or, you can look into Dell. I don't think the Studio 14 or 14z come with an optical drive though.. and the 15" is a bit bigger than what you're looking at.

4. Maybe the Asus 1201n for a smaller, more portable solution? I haven't read any long-term reviews for it but it seems to perform well enough and has pretty good battery life.

If you want a highly portable laptop for watching videos I would suggest one of the new nvidia optimus platforms like the Asus UL80. Its a thin and light model with a graphic card that can be turned on and off to save battery life.

Here is a review of the 15 in vers: (this is site is great btw)

Here is the 14' model on Newegg CA: (i think the 15 may be cheaper if you shop around)
