If they tweaked 8 with the things I have mentioned, they could very well release their Xbox running the OS for the markets very first console PC. I think it would be a great milestone for Microsoft to do. Especially using SSD hard drives as a primary drive holding the OS and a secondary SATA disk for large capacity storage.

Just getting to grips with it and have to say it seems a huge faff with the mouse. Why doesn't the metro UI boxs not actively have a close icon is completely daft. OK Alt/F4 works but not always.

Running Classic Shell and Classic starter. Auto booting in without any hassle and got a proper start button back.

Early days with this whough so hope MS will wake up and fix things that will drive users that have actually used every OS from windows 3 some of the old stuff.

That said, it feels quicker and hopefully should be more secure from virus attack that windows 7 (main reason of updating, plus the price)

It takes time and you can move some things around as well as remove them from the Metro. I do prefer the classic shell. I also use Chrome for everything web related. Also download the free DVD codecs pack for WMP. I adopted WinRAR for handling all file compression issues. Some other awesome features, copying files from two directories where there are copies from different dates, it gives a paired list option with the dates and check boxes to sort through the list before it performs the task! Task Manager is tweaked into a really nice platform. File copies see twice as fast over WiFi and LAN.
Tweaking the way it works on the network, how you log in and other features come up by holding down the "Windows key" and pressing the "i key"

Well I love it on my desktop and can't wait to get a phone to go with it. It looks so good and it makes my pc as much fun as my Apple phone is I like the tips, am spending today getting familiar with it. One thing I'd like to find is a way to close a window with a single click or key. I do it with Alt f4 but I can't do that one handed.

And I think the interface on emails, contacts, news etc is brilliant. It makes Apple things look old fashioned..
