1. What is your budget? Up to $1500, though there is some flexibility there, so it is more of a rough guideline than an absolute max.

2. What is the size of the laptop that you are considering? Either a 15in or a 17in, doesn't matter their pros and cons will balance out for how I will end up using it.

3. What screen resolution do you want? No less than 1920x1080

4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop? Desktop replacement that will occasionally be taken places or on trips.

5. How much battery life do you need? Not a priority at all, but more than an hour would be nice, I am mostly going for a very high performance laptop though.

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)? Yes: BF3, Supreme commander1/FA/2, L4D2, Mass effect series, LoL, MW3, ect. (I think that covers the basic ones lol) All of them on high if at all possible

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.) A lot of video editing & rendering (Sony Vegas and After Effects), Photoshop, C4D, 3ds Max, and I will have many of these going simultaneously along with several internet windows and tabs open. I will also do some programming and recording with an HD PVR.

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need? Preferably more than 700gig between a SSD for OS and some programs and an HDD for storage.

9. If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links. Any where reputable and reliable.

10. How long do you want to keep your laptop? A relatively long time, more than 3 years.

11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc? Blu ray would be nice, but it isn't a priority, at the very least a standard DVD ROM

13. What country do you live in? US

Other stuff:
The OS doesn't matter at all, I can get win7 ultiment for very cheap from my neighbor who works for Microsoft.
I would like it to be more powerful in every way than my current desktop in my sig if at all possible.
I won't be getting it for about 2 more months, if that changes anything.

Thanks for any help!

Alright thanks, and out of curiosity, are there any new mobile GPU/CPU revisions that should becoming out soon? Like as in the next three to six months months? Because I don't want to make the purchase to prematurely as I will not need the mobility of a laptop for a little while longer, and I would like to maximize the performance as much as possible with out spending more than necessary.

I thought I heard that ivy bridge was delayed until Q4 2012. I was originally use going to wait for it, but Q4 2012 is too far away. Is it supposed to be coming before then though?

Edit: Nm, I did some research on it and I couldn't find anything saying that it was delayed any, I'm not sure were I heard that from. If it does release in March then it will be a viable option.
