2 beeps on my laptop

What does it mean when my Dell Inspiron laptop beeps twice at startup..an actual answer would be much appreciated

Two beeps 'usually' means the memory (RAM) isn't being detected. At least that is what Dell says.

take the battery and power off the laptop...flip it over and make sure both ram sticks are locked in. if they are take 1/2 ram out see if the beeping stops. if it does that stic kwent bad.
