Question 2010 iMac can’t load some internet pages

Hi I wiped my 2010 iMac and now the internet won’t work on many sites. Something about not connecting to a secure server? Guess I need a new virus blocker/firewall but also can’t find an app that is comparable since most seem to be only for newer Mac OS X

What browser are you using? If it's Safari, have you updated it? There's pretty much no reason it shouldn't be working fine even with its age if everything is updated.

Hm yes safari, couldn’t download any other browsers form App Store and Firefox won’t download either

I would reinstall your OS again. Nothing about this sounds right.
