What I'm looking for is a decent school laptop for under 450$. Screen size is not important, but I do need battery life and processing power due to the fact I will often have several programs running at once. I've been looking at a few and really need a brand suggestion, or if you are a really nice person, a specific model. I would really like it to be delivered by the time August ends, but if that pushes it out of my price range, I won't be mad. Most of the time I will be running the Internet, a word program and the occasional powerpoint. Any suggestions? Or am I out of my price range?

From Newegg.com - I would recommend any one of these three:

One that's actually under $450, 17.3", intel dual core, windows 7: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834314079

One that's $470, is 11.6" and is a touchscreen (intel core i3), win 8: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834230926

And one that's $460, 15.6", win 8, amd a8 quad core, win 8: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834231083

Now, a lot of these can sometimes be found on sale - $500 laptops will suddenly drop $50-$100 for one day. I would keep my eyes out for those. A word of advice - stay away from Dell and Gateway laptops. Lenovo, Acer, and Asus are the brands you want to look at. HP Laptops at this price range...

Do you plan to do any gaming, if not I would say any ivy bridge i3 laptop would be fine. If you plan to game then an and apu might be a better choice. Do you mind refurbished or want new?
