First time poster! I appreciate taking time to view this question.

My situation:
I am looking for a laptop that I can play games on (League of Legends, various STEAM games, possibly some BF4).
I do not need anything extravagant and I don't really care about running games on max settings and graphics.
What I am interested in is finding a laptop that is relatively fast and that can play most games on medium settings.
I would really like it have Windows 7, but that doesn't seem to be likely.

Thank you guys for reading and (hopefully) responding -- I'll be waiting! Thanks!

Solution
My thoughts are that the factory 1080p panels in this price range aren't any better quality than the 768's, may have slower response time, and the 940m isn't a gamer at 1080p as well as it is at 720/768. The reason I bought it over the other ACER at $650 is because I knew the 1080p screen wasn't going to be great, and that the i7 4712MQ was worth a lot more to me than the 1080p. Basically, If you prefer screen real estate, video watching, and browsing over gaming and outright performance, the $650 Acer or the ASUS you last posted would be the one. If you prefer outright performance and gaming capability, and maybe an extra year of use out of it, the Acer E5-572G is for you, and can always be upgraded to a 1080p screen later for $50-80...
