hey everyone this may be a repeated question.. but i really need help

Problem is i am trying to run an old laptop hp-compaq on a ups as the laptop battery is dead.

the ups only provides backup of 50-60sec, i am not able to figure out whats happening,

i tried to switch to my another ups but the same thing happens.

Thanks for the reply,

i know that its just like plugging into AC, but still the ups usually gives a backup of 10-15min to a single desktop pc,(approx load 220W)

i expect the ups to give at least backup for 5 min.

forgive me for the ignorance, if i am expecting something that i should not and please point me in the right direction, so i can understand the basics.:)

Could be the batteries in the UPS need replacing 'cos they are no longer holding a charge, same with the other UPS you tried.

Thanks for the patience and support from you guys,

I would like to mention,
1. My UPS Battery's are New.
2. Laptop is fully functional without its battery, (Its an old laptop around 10yr old, so i cant get a new battery for it)
3. The problem is probably with the UPS Circuit as its only giving backup of 1 min, that means ups is shutting down while there is still enough juice left inside the battery...

Thanks for the effort.
