only thing close to that price and being able to game is the lenevo y410. I think its usually on sale for around $800, and is the only system that low that will offer a dedicated graphics card that is going to handle any kind of good gaming other than facebook stuff. Otherwise gaming laptops are $1200-3000.

What you want it for, and what you want it to do, require good parts. Not going to find those cheap. Good laptops for editing 'start' around $2000. Decent laptops that will give you medium settings for gameplay usually 'start' around $1000. The lenevo is the only one i know of that goes for less than a grand. And its still decent, but you get what you pay for. You'll get a 14" 720p screen, i5-i7 , poor battery life, will run warm and loud when under stress, and chasis wont feel rock solid. But for under $1000 thats the best option.

Honestly with a 14" screen, id probably prefer the 720p screen. #1 screen size is smaller than full hd wont make noticeable difference. Yet #2 importantly, games play better when settings are set to actual screen resolution. Being set at 720p will give you a big fps boost while playing games vs the 1080p. And if you go to settings and manually make Gameplay 720p instead of 1080p, it normally gives you a smaller box in the screen for Gameplay, vs full screen.

With the y410p, you should be be able to use 720p and get medium to high settings while playable frames.

OP, really looks like this laptop for you budget and needs is going to be the absolute best thing for you. Like I said before, its not a A+, lower price nets you less than top notch product, but I'm not saying the Lenovo is crap, I'ts just not going to be $2000 rock solid.

I don't expect the best for my budget. But the y410p will be the most likely one I will buy.
