$80 Headset for gaming (and some recording)

Basically, I'm looking to get the best bang for your buck headset (with microphone) for around $70. I'm a bit lenient and if it's a much better deal, I can increase my budget a small amount. These will be used for gaming and some video recording, so something really important is the microphone quality.

My current headset is the Sennheiser PC 320 G4ME and it's pretty bad. The headset is actually too heavy for itself and whenever I adjust the height, it just pulls itself back down so I'm currently using tape to hold my adjustments. On top of that, the microphone has a LOT of static in the background when recording anything and it freaks out when I use the mute function. All of this has gotten me fed up and I have some money right now so I figured it would be a good idea to go ahead and get an upgrade.

Anyway, look at the Logitech G930 or the Razer Blackshark. They cost about $120, mind you.

Anyway, look at the Logitech G930 or the Razer Blackshark. They cost about $120, mind you.

My current headset is really shit for the cost. My previous ones were around $50 and easily better. The material used for padding was much nicer, the microphone mute didn't make people hear high pitched whirring, it had an adjustable microphone piece, and the headphones could actually support their own weight.

Anyways thanks for the suggestions in your second post. I'll look at some reviews and such for them.

In my searches of the two you mentioned, I ended up finding this thread (http/www.overclock.net/t/1014902/ocns-most-recommended-audio-products) and was wondering if you think the Audiotechnica ATR-2500 and Superlux 668B would be good together. I found them both at cheapest of $110 together, which I can afford on Friday.

On the other hand, you can have the G930 for that money. I don't know man.... read some reviews until Friday and then decide. I'm really curious what you're going to pick here.

So turns out the reason my mic sucks is because of my lack of a sound card. Gonna buy one and also I think I'm just gonna go ahead and grab the steelseries siberia v2. Only question is why does there seem to be large price fluctuations just because of the color? I could buy the (kinda ugly) blue for half the price of the black.

When you change the color you change the seller too, and that's what makes the price vary so wildly IMO.

Thing is I found them at BestBuy (so I can walk in and pick them up) for the varying color prices, all being still sold by BestBuy.

EDIT: Apparently the blue ones ARE the same price it's just they are on sale. They don't look as good as the white or black ones, but hell I'm saving $40.

Steelseries Siberia V2 is what I am going with. This will be my chosen answer until I have actually gotten the headset so that I can check them out and make sure they are good. Okay I got the Siberias and while in all honesty they aren't a whole lot better than the 320's, I would say they are definitely more comfortable and at any rate, they are slightly better. Overall, anyone wanting a headset around $80-$90 should definitely go with this!

BTW 320's are way more expensive and not worth it.
