Any ideas as to when the few laptop, tablet, mobile device makers will begin offering 802.11ac wireless connectivity as a standard feature or upgrade? I've been waiting to see which company makes the first jump to on-board 802.11ac while others are stuck with 802.11b/g/n technology. Broadcom has already released "first silicon" samples with production ramping up the first-half of 2013.

Now, if the smartphone makers can do the same, we'll have a happy, 802.11ac wireless world for all!

SGS4 now has 802.11ac.

Don't think anyone else has much though.

EDIT: HTC One apparently has it too.

I still consider it somewhat of a gimmick though - until we see faster internet and more spectrum WiFi speeds will continue to stay steady.

Also keep in mind that most 802.11ac routers are dual band. One set of antennae for AC and one for a/b/g/n so if you want AC for your pc, you can still have N for your phone/tablet.

I differ to the wisdom of those more knowledgable than myself. :)
