a beginner witih fiio x3 ii

Sage advice requested. I'm only now discovering the greatness of quality sound. To date, I've uploaded my cds to itunes and they have been converted into mp3 format. I've been using an ipod classic. It's time to move on. I just purchased the new fiio x3 ii, and I'm considering re-uploading my cd collection to my computer and making sure that all files are lossless. The software I'm planning on using to this is: EAC (Exact Audio Copy). Once uploaded, I plan to connect my fiio x3 ii to my Denon DRA-500 AE.
Can you anyone please confirm that this plan makes sense, or suggest a better one?

Your plan is sound. EAC is fine but if you want to use itunes you can use it to re-rip your files to lossless files. You can also use other programs depending on whether you are Mac or PC. Check out www.computeraudiophile.com for their ripping scheme.
Next step is to get some higher than CD quality files to listen to since your player supports them.

THANK YOU FOR THIS GREAT RESPONSE. YOU HAVE AFFIRMED WHAT I WAS HOPING WAS A GOOD PLAN. THREE MORE QUESTIONS, IF I MAY:
1) 90% of my music collection is actual CDs. i have purchased very few files on itunes. When I upload my CDs on to my comptuer, what format do you recommend I use? (OGG, FLAC, WAV?)
2) The re-rip you mention relates to items purchased on Itunes, correct? And if yes, i assume I would need to pay more to upgrade the music I purchased on itunes as mp3 to lossless. Let me know if I'm understanding this properly.
3) Where, other than Itunes, can I purchase higher-than-cd-quality music?
