Hey guys,

I am about to buy a gaming laptop but I need some advice on what will be the best for me.

My budget is around $1100 AUD
I am wanting the screen size to be 15.6inch or anything over that.
I'm not sure what screen resolution is the best, but I just want it to be HD
I want something that is both portable and can replace my old desktop, so I don't want anything to bulky but it can be kind of large.
It needs to have a good battery life as I will be using it a lot when I am travelling and don't have access to a charger.
I am wanting to play games on it, preferably on high settings.
I will also be using the laptop for school, for things like video editing, writing essays, and video editing.
I would like anything that has around a 1TB hard drive.
I don't mind what website it is bought from, but I would like it to be Australian.
I am wanting to keep the laptop for several years, so would like something 'future-proof' when it comes to gaming.
In terms of optical drive, I just want something that will be able to read standard DVD's.
I live in Australia, and would like to buy from an Australian website if available to cut down on shipping times and prices.

I am currently looking at the HP G Series 15-E013AX, found here: http://www.harveynorman.com.au/hp-pavilion-g-series-15-e013ax-laptop.html

Is this a good laptop, or should I consider something else?

My friend has the same laptop, he is able to play BF3 on high settings at around 30fps.

I am wanting to play FPS games mostly, but also games like SimCity, and some RPG games.
