Ac 97 error code 10

Hello,
I have a gateway mx6429, I upgraded to windows 7 ultimate 64bit, now my soundcard doesn't work. I get the ac97 error code 10, device cannot start. I have downloaded every version of the driver I can find, and nothing works. I have the stock mx6429 with 2gb ram instead of one.
