Acer 3CB mic

My Acer 3CB mic isn't working. I was using facebook video chat and could hear the other person but they couldn't hear me. HELP. What does an old (really old) Granny do to fix this?

Hi,

Please do check if your mic is On. Right click on the speaker icon on the bottom right hand corner of your screen and select Recording Device. If there are 2 Microphone listed in there try switching from 1 microphone to the other. Right click on the other Microphone and click Set as Default and then click Apply and OK. If you talk using your Microphone an indication that it's working is there should be a green bar going up and down when your talking thru it.

If that doesn't work and there's only 1 Microphone listed, right click on it and select Properties. Go to Levels tab the make sure it's all the way up to 100% and check if there's any mark on it's speaker icon making sure that it's not muted.

I can only see a speaker in that corner. I can't find the mic. HELP

UPDATE I have found the mic and it's on but I don't see where I can turn up the sound.
