Acer 5542 have a bios black screen problem need help or a solution on how to flash the or upgrade bios.

Thank for your input to help but I can't get into system as I have a black screen ,I have tried the ram and other methods but I can't get my laptop to accept my USB flash drive .

Well, if the universal serial buses and main controls aren't working, then there isn't much you can do on your end.

I suggest RMAing it if possible, or taking it to your local computer repair shop and seeing if they can fix it.

I was working on the same issue. Notebook has started (hdd was working but display was black). The solution was to replace battery on motherboard. Thats it!
