Acer and TV using a HDMI cable doesn't connect.

I have recently bought a new Acer Aspire computer to connect it to my TV using a HDMI cable.

When I first connected it, it was fine and the picture and sound was good, but then all of a sudden the picture disappeared, but it would then flick back on and off again a few times and then the TV screen would go black, but it continues to play on my computer.

The computer is brand new and running Windows 8.1, so I'm hoping there is nothing wrong with the computer. Are there any obvious solutions for this.

Hi,

First is to update your graphics card driver that you can download the latest driver from the manufacturers website.
NVIDIA - nvidia.com/download/index.aspx
AMD - http/support.amd.com/en-us/download

Once updated, reboot your laptop for all the changes to take effect. After the reboot press the Windows key + P and select between "Duplicate or Extended" display depending on your preference.
