Acer Aspire 3 - 391 Battery icon shows message \

My month old Acer Aspire 3 (391) does not recognize the battery. The battery icon shows a empty battery with a red X and a mouse over brings up a message "no battery detected". any ideas?

Make sure the battery is connected properly, and locked into position.

If it is connected properly, open Device Manager, expand Batteries, and uninstall Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery.

Shut down & reboot. Windows will reinstall the missing driver once windows reloads. If this does not fix your problem, how old is this laptop/battery?

The life of a laptop battery is 3-4 years at best if used regularly.
