Acer aspire 5336 black screen

hi i have an acer aspire 5336 and it has a black screen sometimes i can faintly see the logo but wont brighten up. the laptop itself works absolutley fine so im a lttle confused what the issue could be any help would be greatfully appreciated.

Its either the Inverter (most likely) or a failed screen...

No ...lol

BOTH are hardware repairs... no software will ever fix it...

BUT...

If its what I think, it SHOULD run perfectly WITH an external screen plugged in....(on the external screen)
