Acer Aspire E15 E5 575 521F

Bought the Acer Aspire E15 E5 575 521F laptop at best buy it came with a 4gb memory so i decided to buy a 8gb memory to up the total memory to 12gb but on install of the 8gb gskill memory when i turn on the laptop i encounter a black screen, when i remove the 8gb ram it boots like normal

Well, you could have bought the wrong kind of memory for that device. It is possible as they are not all the same. Also, the limitation on that device could be set so that you can't upgrade as much as you are, or at all.
