I just picked up two of these laptops, I have read numerous issues on these laptops being slow when new so I wanted to share my findings.
First thing I did was remove the outdated Mcafee AV, now this wasn't the root cause, but I did this because I wanted to use MSE or Win defender.
The part that really fixed the hangups, and transformed this laptop to where it should be was the following:
Right click on the windows icon
Select "Search"
Then type "Disk Cleanup" Should appear when you type "Disk"
Select the "Disk Cleanup"
This will start the laptop to calculate the space
Then when the box shows at the top and is labeled "Files to delete", check the boxes that have a value other then "0"
This is what I did with a brand new laptop, make sure you have saved any pics or documents that me be deleted if you are doing this at a later date then when new.
Then click "OK"
Once this was finished everything was normal. I personally like to use MSE which I believe is now Windows Defender..never any issues.
Now it's on to removing all the adware that comes pre-installed.
Hope this helps.
