Acer E1 531 not charging while on

My laptop charges while off but the light doesn't come on. It runs on battery fine and with no battery on ac it comes on. When i put the battery and ac together it runs on battery as if not plugged in unless im at 100%. Any help will be greatly appreciated new battery and charger.

Are you using the original Acer AC adapter?

no pwr+ ac2 19v 3.2a
it had good reviews thought it would be good enough

This is likely the issue. I suspect your power supply is not providing the needed wattage the system needs to both charge and operate your system.

no I do not should I buy one

I was just asking to have a way to compare performance. I really think the after-market AC adapter/charger is the issue.
