Acer laptop not working

i have an acer inspiron m501r i think? anyway the other day i put it on hibernate for a couple hours wish now i know i shouldnt have done, when i started it up it showed a black error page for about 3 seconds then went off, it refused to start, just stayed on \'starting windows\' until the blue error screen came up and it restarted, i backed up my files and whiped my hard drive as i know this has worked before, but now its incredibly slow, takes over 5 minutes to boot up and shut down, im quite worried as im only 17 and need a laptop for college work etc and i don thave the money for another new laptop , please help me out
